Submissions

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

All manuscripts should:

1. Contain a cover page with the title of the paper, full name of author(s), address, institutional affiliation, email, and phone number of the contributors.
2. Be original and have not been submitted for consideration or published elsewhere.  
3. Be typewritten in English, using one side A4 size format, Times New Roman, single line spacing,  12 font size, and not more than 16 pages.
4. Include a clear and concise abstract not more than 250 words, with 4–6 relevant keywords.
5. Clearly contain the introduction, research purposes, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion and recommendations.
6. Conform with the latest edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) referencing style all through.
7. Be subjected to plagiarism check and those whose similarity index is above 20% will be returned to the author for further refinement and resubmission.
8. Be accompanied with plagiarism test result and a non-refundable assessment charge of ₦7,000 and  $30 for foreign subscribers.
9. After acceptance for publication, all contributors shall pay a publication charge of ₦25,000 and  $70 for foreign subscribers.
10. Be subjected to a double-blind review by the KIJEMAL’s editorial board.

Manuscripts Structure
All original research manuscripts must be structured as follows:

• Title
• Contributor(s) Name(s) (Full name, no abbreviations, and surname should be in uppercase)
• Institutional affiliation, (Department, Faculty, Institution, Country)
• Email, and phone number
• ORCID ID (if available)
• Abstract (not more than 250 words)
• Keywords (4–6 relevant keywords placed immediately under the Abstract)
• Introduction (this should cover the literature review. Do not include a separate literature review section. Except for review papers, the Introduction should not have subheadings.
• Problem Statement
• Purpose of the study
• Research Question(s)
• Hypothesis/Hypotheses (if any)
• Methodology: This should be presented under concise but relevant subheading. Authors should avoid too many irrelevant headings.)
• Results: Presentation of research findings (tables, figures, and charts where necessary)
• Discussion of Findings: This section should be presented in concise but relevant subheadings with fully developed paragraphs.)
• Conclusion: This should be concise and in line with the overall goal of the study
• Recommendations: Authors are required to recommend innovatively based on the findings of the study.
• References: Follow APA (latest edition) referencing style and ensure all in-text citations are listed in the references.
