About the Journal

At-Takhrij is an annual publication journal of the Department of Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University. It provides a platform for both incoming and distinguished scholars worldwide to showcase the outcomes of their recent research findings in the core areas of Islamic law and comparative approaches, touching on aspects of Islamic law. The journal adopts an open access policy for global visibility. It maintains high integrity and imposes serious sanctions for plagiarism.  

The areas of focus of the journal include but not limited to Islamic law; Islamic justice; Islamic finance law; Islamic comparative law; Comparative legal studies of Islamic law with others; Principles and Applications of Islamic law and justice; Islamic law and health; Islamic law and legal profession; Islamic law and professional ethics; Islamic law and STEM; Islamic legal reforms; Islamic economics and Shariah; Fiqh and Usūl al-Fiqh; administration of Islamic law and justice; Islamic penal law and practices; Islamic commercial law and practice; interrogations of other legal systems from Islamic law perspectives; Islamic law and contemporary issues; Islamic law and Maqasid; Islamic disputes avoidance and resolution; Islamic law cases reviews; and all legal discourses aligning with Islamic law.

  • The journal charges a fee, as may be duly determined from time to time, for assessment and publication processing fees.
  • The journal is published annually in December.
  • The Mission of the Journal is to serve as a reliable outlet for the publication of well-assessed research outputs on all aspects of Islamic law and practice, as well as all areas of study employing Islamic law as a tool of analysis and interrogation in research engagements. 
  • The journal is envisioned to become the leading journal in Nigeria and beyond, with a standard material reference for research publications with a focus on Islamic legal studies, with the widest spread, acceptance and resort globally, with indexing and ranking recognition by international authorities.
  • The Department of Islamic Law, Kwara State University, retains the copyright of the journal publication.
