Call for Papers:
The Editorial Board of AT-TAKHRIJ – An Annual Journal of the Department of Islamic Law, Kwara State University, Malete (KWASU: www.kwasu.edu.ng) is pleased to announce the commencement of the publication of its journal from 2026 (in sha Allah). The Board hereby calls for submission of papers for consideration in the maiden edition of the journal (Vol. 1, 2026) scheduled for publication in December 2026. Authors are required to take note and comply with the following specifications:
- Publishers: Department of Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete - Nigeria
- Deadline for Papers Submission: 31st May (papers received after this deadline may be slated for consideration in the next issue of the journal, Vol. 2).
- Font Format and Size: New Times Roman, 12 font size
- Mode of File Submission: Microsoft Word
- Manuscript Design: single line spacing; cover page to contain name(s) of author(s); rank/status; affiliation; email; phone number; WhatsApp number; Scopus ID (if applicable); ORCiD ID (if applicable); in case of more than one author, indicate the corresponding author; authors not to be more than three for a paper; not more than one submission by an author in the same Volume (whether individually and/or jointly); papers to have Introduction; Findings; Recommendations and Conclusion; among others.
- Referencing: NALT or OSCOLA
- Word Limits: Article (Not less than 5000 and not more than 10000 words, including the footnotes); Case or Law Review (Not less than 3000 words, not more than 5000 words, including the footnotes).
- Focus Areas/Subjects: Islamic law; Islamic justice; Islamic finance law; Islamic comparative law; Comparative legal studies of Islamic law with others; Principles and Applications of Islamic law and justice; Islamic law and health; Islamic medical law and ethics; Islamic law and legal profession; Islamic law and professional ethics; Islamic law and STEM; Islamic legal reforms; Islamic economics and Shari‘ah; Fiqh and Usūl al-Fiqh; administration of Islamic law and justice; Islamic penal law and practices; Islamic commercial law and practice; interrogations of other legal systems from Islamic law perspectives; Islamic law and contemporary issues; Islamic law and Maqasid Shari‘ah; Islamic disputes avoidance and resolution; Islamic law cases reviews; and all legal discourses aligning with Islamic law.
