Call for papers

The Editorial Board of AT-TAKHRIJ – Biannual Journal of the Department of Islamic Law, Kwara State University, Malete (KWASU: htpps://journals.kwasu.edu.ng/index.php/takhrij) is pleased to announce the call for papers for the next issue. The Board hereby invites submissions for consideration in the next edition of the journal (Vol. 1(2), 2026), scheduled for publication in December 2026. Authors are required to take note and comply with the following specifications:

  1. Publishers: Department of Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete - Nigeria
  2. Deadline for Paper Submission: 15th October 2026 (papers received after this deadline may be slated for consideration in the next issue).
  3. Font Format and Size: Times New Roman, 12 font size, 1.5-line spacing.
  4. Mode of File Submission: Microsoft Word
  5. Manuscript Design: papers to have, amongst others, Abstract (not more than 200 words), Introduction, Conceptual and Theoretical Framework, Conclusion and Recommendations. Authors not to be more than five for a paper; not more than one submission by an author (as Lead Author) in the same Volume;
  6. Referencing: NALT or OSCOLA
  7. Submissions: Please note that submission via email is not acceptable. All submissions shall be made strictly via the journal website at: https://journals.kwasu.edu.ng/index.php/takhrij/about/submissions
  8. Words Limits: Article (Not less than 5000 and not more than 8000 words, including the footnotes); Case or Law Review (Not less than 3000 words, not more than 5000 words, including the footnotes).
  9. Focus Areas/Subjects: Islamic finance law; Islamic Comparative legal studies; Principles and Applications of Islamic law and justice; Islamic law and health; Islamic medical law and ethics; Islamic law and legal profession; Islamic law and professional ethics; Islamic law and STEM; Islamic legal reforms; Islamic economics and Shari‘ah; Fiqh and Usūl al-Fiqh; administration of Islamic law and justice; Islamic penal law and practices; Islamic commercial law and practice; interrogations of other legal systems from Islamic law perspectives; Islamic law and contemporary issues; Islamic law and Maqasid Shari‘ah; Islamic disputes avoidance and resolution; Islamic law cases reviews; and all legal discourses aligning with Islamic law.

  11. Assessment Fee: N5,000: 00k (Five Thousand Naira only) to be paid when submitting papers, evidence of which to be sent to: (kwasujoils@kwasu.edu.ng), indicating the title of the submission as the subject of the mail.
  12. Publication Fee: N20,000: 00k (Twenty Thousand Naira only) to be paid after the acceptance of the paper before publication.
